As people in Michigan age, pressure on the senior services we provide increases. Your donated car helps.

Help provide better care for seniors in Michigan – donate car or truck to Volunteers of America Michigan.

When you donate a car or other vehicle to Volunteers of America you help support a wide range of programs from shelters and job training for Michigan’s homeless veterans, to Adopt-A-Family and Operation Backpack that benefit low-income children all over the state. As important as our other efforts are, there is a looming issue for Michigan and our nation where Volunteers of America stands in the front lines – the steady increase of seniors needing care. Read on and you’ll see why it is so important that people who live in Michigan donate car, truck or boat to Volunteers of America.

Michigan faces a steadily increasing challenge in senior care. A challenge you help us meet when you donate a car.

There is a huge shift taking place in the age of Americans, as steady and certain as the ticking of a clock. By the year 2030 over 71 million Americans will be aged 65 or older. In Michigan Volunteers of America is already seeing the effects of the aging of our citizens. It places increased demands on every aspect of Michigan’s system of providing elder care, from hospitals to assisted living and home health care services. The challenges these services will have absorbing the inevitable increase in seniors will be daunting. There is no doubt that we are at a tipping point in our ability to care for our aging parents and grandparents, and to be taken care of ourselves as we age. The facilities in place today will have a difficult time providing quality care for the steadily rising number of older Americans.

At Volunteers of America Michigan we understand that for most people in Michigan the unknown challenges of aging can be complex and more than a little bit frightening. Volunteers of America Michigan is working to help older people in the Great Lakes State enjoy their lives. As part of Volunteers of America’s aggressive national initiative called Aging with Options™ we are working to help seniors create an ongoing trusted relationship with the support systems that will allow them to age at home – all partially underwritten when generous people like you in Michigan donate car, or any other vehicle they’re not using by filling out the form to the right or calling our toll free number 877-721-4862

Volunteers of America is one of the nations largest providers of senior services – all supported when you give a vehicle to charity in Michigan - donate car, RV or boat

Volunteers of America has spent more than 100 years anticipating and adapting to the changing needs of the USA. We believe this adaptability and expertise will place Volunteers of America, and Volunteers of America Michigan at the leading edge of services to the aging, in Michigan and beyond.

Most people don’t know this, but Volunteers of America is the fourth largest nonprofit provider of nursing care in the nation, the sixth largest nonprofit provider of assisted living facilities and one of the largest nonprofit providers of affordable senior housing in the nation. In Michigan alone Volunteers of America provides nearly 700 seniors with affordable permanent senior housing. From Detroit to Benton Harbor, Battle Creek to Pontiac, River Rouge, Redford and Buena Vista Township, your charity car donations help support Affordable senior housing and countless senior services ranging from transportation and libraries to advocacy with social services. Unlike other assisted living facilities which can clean out the savings of a senior, many of our only charge low-income seniors 30% of their adjusted gross income for rent.

Please help us address this serious challenge – we provide free towing and fast receipts to use for your federal tax deduction when people in Michigan donate car, or any other vehicle they’re not using, to Volunteers of America Michigan.
